DC Community of Practice (DC CoP)
The District of Columbia (DC) School Behavioral Health Community of Practice (CoP) is a strategic collaboration or learning community of school personnel, community mental health providers, students and families supporting the District’s phased expansion of school-based behavioral health services. The DC CoP’s overarching priority is the adoption of additional evidence-based practices and building of school-based mental health capacity for children, youth, and their families. As a partner to George Washington University’s Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS), CRP provides technical assistance support to the initiative in several areas, including:
Logistical/technical support for CoP virtual conferences, meetings, chats, structured dialogue, practice groups, trainings, and other learning opportunities;
A user-friendly website, which disseminates information, resources and supports the initiative’s overall communication strategy;
A master database, which serves as a listserv to share emails, event notifications, and other announcements; and
An evaluation task, which assesses the implementation and impact of the CoP on enhancing school behavioral health practices in school settings.
CRP’s technical assistance advances the DC CoP’s goal of stimulating the implementation of evidence-based strategies into school behavioral health programming and service delivery.
